Professeur de mathématique à la retraite, historien,
survenu le mercredi 1er avril 2026, à l'âge de 83 ans.
Les obsèques se dérouleront dans l’intimité familiale.

Mr. Gabriel Sabbagh,
Retired Professor of Mathematics, Historian
on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the age of 83.
A private funeral will be held.
The family will organize a gathering to commemorate Gabriel’s life. If you would like to take part in this event, which will take place before the summer, please fill in the form below so we can be sure to share the details with you as soon as we have them.

Gabriel was an important part of my life for more than 40 years and taught me much. He is one of the most remarkable and complex humans I ever met. He wore his great knowledge very lightly and was fun at the table as well.
ReplyDepuis plus d'un an , la musique nous avait rapprochés. Nous échangions nos impressions musicales en toute liberté. Elles étaient souvent très proches. Dernièrement Gabriel m'avait offert l'enregistrement des "Quatre derniers Lieder" de Richard Strauss, par Élisabeth Schwarzkopf. Que c'est beau ! En guise d'Adieu, je recopie ici la dernière strophe d'Eichendorff, dans le texte :
O weiter, stille Friede !
So tief im Abendrot.
Wie sind wir wandermüde-
ist dies etwa des Tod ?
